West Houston Chinese Church (WHCC) is a non-denominational evangelical Christian church with 800+ members, holding services in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese. We are a growing congregation and seek staff who want to use their talents and skills to help build the kingdom of God.

  • Knowledge of modern computer operating systems (Mac OS, Microsoft Windows 7/8/8.1/10, Server OS’s) and mobile platforms (iOS, Android)
  • Knowledge in computer software & hardware maintenance
  • Knowledge in IT helpdesk/desktop support
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non­technical end users at all levels of the organization
  • Self­ starting & coachable attitude with a willingness to grow, learn and adapt to changing technologies
  • Attention to detail coupled with excellent organization skills
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize on a daily basis
  • Good problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to work well with others, as well as independently
  • The ability to bend, squat, crawl or climb and lift technology hardware as needed

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding and proficiency of IT Network technologies and processes
  • Excellent working knowledge of up-to-date desktop applications
  • Knowledge/Experience with TouchPoint Church Management software
  • Knowledge of Windows scripting, batch files and automation
  • Knowledge in Audio Sound board, Visual Projection, basic video camera recording
  • Creativity and advanced knowledge of media production, media software (Final Cut Pro, PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro, iMovie, and GarageBand), and Microsoft Office is desired
  • Excellent jack of all trade IT skills and suitable for Small Business Environment

Job Description

Part-Time position:

  • Provide primary Audio & Visual (A/V) support during special events for paid/unpaid special events at church (e.g. weddings, funerals, etc.); secondary/troubleshooter on Sundays; backup on an as needed basis
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and updates to computers, peripherals and network equipment as needed to ensure all devices are in an efficient and functional state
  • Create/Maintain inventory of all hardware and consumables used via asset database management
  • Resolve ChMS (TouchPoint) related issues
  • Remain up-to-date with industry innovations and use of technology in ministry and enhance technical, media, and professional skills
  • Act as liaison between media ministry (Media Deacon) and church office


Full-Time position (in addition to the above):

  • Provide consistent, friendly IT Support to volunteers, staff and attendees & members to all staff, employees and volunteers during normal business hours, which includes but is not limited to backups, laptop, desktop, OS troubleshoot, infrastructure support, WiFi management, tablet management, software management, storage, firewall, VOIP Phone systems support, printer support, security camera support and more
  • Provides technology training to all employees on as needed basis
  • Manage all church social media update and website management and request
  • Act as primary point of contact for all technology related vendors
  • Work in conjunction with Media Deacon to constantly evaluate and improve IT systems including network infrastructure, hardware development and IT processes for church wide technology related equipment
